DeKalb Perimeter Community Improvement District, City of Dunwoody Announce Partnership to Enhance Public Safety

DUNWOODY, GA [April 23, 2024] — The DeKalb Perimeter Community Improvement District (DeKalb PCID) is proud to announce a strategic partnership with the City of Dunwoody and the Dunwoody Police Department aimed at enhancing public safety in the Perimeter district. The DeKalb PCID has approved $173,350 in funds for a two-year Public Safety Technology Partnership with the Dunwoody Police Department, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to prioritizing the safety and security of residents and visitors.
In the rapidly growing Perimeter district, which includes major corporate headquarters, Perimeter Mall, new mixed-use developments, and other destinations for shopping, dining, entertainment, and lodging, safety is a top priority for both the DeKalb PCID and the City of Dunwoody. The partnership will leverage state-of-the-art equipment and cutting-edge technology to enhance surveillance and monitoring capabilities, enhancing public safety efforts.
“This partnership underscores our dedication to creating a safe and secure environment for everyone in the Perimeter community,” said Ann Hanlon, Executive Director of the Perimeter CIDs. “By investing in this advanced technology and collaborating closely with the Dunwoody Police Department, we are taking proactive steps to address evolving safety needs and uphold our commitment to public safety.”
Flock Safety System Provides Advanced Surveillance for the District
The partnership will involve the deployment of its Flock Safety system, top-of-the-line surveillance equipment that includes Falcon license plate readers, a Raven gunshot detection system covering 1-square mile, and Condor pan-tilt-zoom cameras. These measures will not only help deter crime but also facilitate rapid response and investigation, further enhancing overall safety in the area.
