Perimeter Brings Biketober Rides and Rewards to Local Cyclists

This year, Perimeter’s cycling network went big for Biketober! Throughout October, the Perimeter team toured the neighborhood to get office workers on e-bikes, share Love to Ride’s Biketober challenge, and get more riders on the area’s many bike paths.

One free e-bike to a lucky winner

We visited 12 office centers around Perimeter to get employees testing Edison e-bikes. With a lithium battery that supports you up to 22+ miles an hour, these e-bikes are an eco-friendly alternative to cars and a leg-friendly way to switch up your commute.

Over 200 workers took the e-bikes for a spin, with great reviews. The perks didn’t stop at exercise, either: every test rider was entered in our drawing to win an Edison e-bike of their own, for free! Congratulations to Sarah T. at Perimeter Summit, our lucky winner this month!

These test rides also let us share the biking infrastructure being built around Perimeter. Between the on-road bike lanes and several new and upcoming multi-use trails, the neighborhood is getting more cyclist-friendly by the day. Check out these maps of current and future bike infrastructure in Dunwoody, all the trails in Brookhaven, and the bike trails recommended by Sandy Springs riders

Taking a spin on Path400

Biketober is for everyone. That’s why the Perimeter CIDs took the chance to test out the new, local portion of Path400! We took Dunwoody City Councilman Rob Price, Sandy Springs Economic Development Director Chris Burnett, and more community members for a ride on October 22 from Lazy Dog Perimeter to the Path400 entrance at Lake Hearn Drive and Peachtree Dunwoody Road.

Since Path400 is just one of the many amenities that Perimeter CIDs has contributed to in the Cities of Brookhaven, Dunwoody, and Sandy Springs, this ride was the perfect way to check out the public-private partnerships’ progress.

Wanna take a spin, too? Along with Path400, we recommend Dunwoody Village and their new bike racks, or the new multi-use trail along Ashford Dunwoody Road, near Perimeter Mall.

And the Biketober winners are…

Our e-bike giveaway was just one of many biking rewards this month. Love to Ride Atlanta challenged individual riders, teams, and workplaces to record their bike rides throughout October and win biking accessories, weekly gift cards, and a free $2,400-value e-bike grand prize. Those who signed up got points for any rides logged—which means all our test riders had a chance to rack up some points!

Perimeter made it on the workplace leaderboards, with the REI Perimeter team at #4 in the 50-199 staff category and Cox Automotive at #10 in 2,000+ staff! Jen C. on the REI Perimeter team also won a $100 gift card for logging rides to work.

The grand prize and more goodies are still being calculated by Love to Ride. Keep an eye on the leaderboards this month to see who takes home the e-bike!
