Asbury Automotive Group Brings New Headquarters, 350 Jobs into Perimeter
The City of Sandy Springs is excited to announce that Asbury Automotive Group, one of the largest franchised automotive groups in the U.S., will be relocating its headquarters to Sandy Springs next year. The Fortune 500 company has signed the purchase agreement and is scheduled to close within 30 days on the former Newell Brands, Inc. headquarters at 6655 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd., where it plans to renovate the 98,000 sq. ft. facility in preparation for its move, anticipated in late Summer 2025. Office space is going quickly: the building only came on the market this summer, when Newell Brands announced a new, larger headquarters in the iconic Queen building.
Perimeter’s connection remains in high demand
“We look forward to our move to the Perimeter area of Sandy Springs. This is an exciting change for the team and will afford our current and future employees many benefits, both in the building itself and conveniences in the surrounding community,” said David Hult, Asbury President & CEO. “Sandy Springs provides direct access to the heart of Atlanta, world-class restaurants and entertainment, and the world’s busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson. We are proud to call it our corporate home.”
In a statement obtained by the City of Sandy Springs’ official website, Mayor Rusty Paul highlighted the benefits that Asbury would bring, including 350 new jobs, which are set to bring high-quality employment opportunities and a significant economic impact. To facilitate the relocation, the Sandy Springs City Council approved an Economic Incentive for Asbury, agreeing to waive building permit fees and business occupational taxes for three years, accounting for an estimated $254,500 in savings.
Along with Asbury, Perimeter is home to many Fortune 200, 500 and 1000 companies. Among the largest corporate employers are United Parcel Service (UPS), Smurfit WestRock, Veritiv Corp., Newell Brands Inc., Intercontinental Exchange/NYSE, ServiceMaster, Graphic Packaging, Cox Communications, Inspire Brands, Focus Brands, and Mercedes Benz USA.
