The project will add two new at-grade, elevated, and barrier-separated express lanes in both directions on I-285 between I-20 on the western side and I-20 on the eastern side. The project is planned as segments, with a segment from Raider Drive west to Atlanta Road, another from North Shallowford east to I-20, and a central segment spanning Raider to North Shallowford and north along GA-400 to North Springs Station. The entire corridor will be barrier-separated express lanes (like those on I-75), and is planned to be delivered in a staggered process over the next 10-15 years.
