Perimeter Lands New Business, Big and Small

This year, more lights are on in Perimeter’s windows. Swisslog, Beon, and Newell Brands (owner of Sharpie and Rubbermaid) are just some of the companies opening headquarters in Atlanta’s growing office and retail hub.

Making room to grow

Beon, the AI-powered digital logistics platform, just cut the ribbon on a new headquarters for their subsidiaries Transportation Insight and Nolan Transportation Group. Governor Brian Kemp and Dunwoody Mayor Lynn Deutsch helped welcome the new businesses to their new office location. Transportation Insight is ready to grow into the space, employing 500 workers already at Campus 244 and hiring 180+ more since this January. They’re at the front of the line into Campus 244, the revitalized Gold Kist building, as other businesses and restaurants sign on for remaining space.

Logistics company Swisslog is opening a new Americas 26,000 square-foot headquarters in Perimeter’s Terraces building. Dunwoody’s growing workforce and unique access to Atlanta drew Swisslog to their new location, according to Rough Draft Atlanta. With over 5,000 other companies making their home in Perimeter, its reputation as Atlanta’s center of business is still going strong.

Newell Brands, which has long called Perimeter home, is leasing a staggering 180,000 square feet in Sandy Springs’ Queen building. They’re not moving far: the old Newell Brands headquarters is also in Sandy Springs, on Peachtree Dunwoody Road. Sandy Springs’ accessibility, plus all of Perimeter’s amenities, encouraged Newell Brands to stay and increase their office space by 20%.

All about work/life balance

Perimeter isn’t only landing office contracts. A new fast-casual eatery just opened on High Street, adding to the mix of apartments, restaurants, and retail, all in one community. Velvet Taco, occupying a prime street-level spot that’s walkable from the Dunwoody MARTA Station, serves more than 20 taco varieties and is poised to become a lunchtime favorite for workers and residents.

Commuters and residents can also try an array of cuisines in Politan Row, put down new roots in new spaces at High Street or the upcoming AMLI Brookhaven building, or wander the district’s growing trails and parks. With increasing options of things to do and how to get there, it’s no wonder Perimeter’s cities see thousands of visitors each day.

Don’t call it a comeback

Perimeter’s big business reputation has held since Sandy Springs’ King and Queen buildings opened in 1988 and 1991. State Farm’s regional hub and Cox’s 19-story tower have drawn workers to Sandy Springs for the last decade, along with Mercedes-Benz’s headquarters and IHG’s steady stream of new hotels.

Perimeter is bringing new life to these workspaces by building their community. New apartment buildings wouldn’t draw workers or companies without the 130+ retailers or 11 miles of bike lanes growing around them. With more buildings like The Stacks and multi-use paths like the Ashford Dunwoody Trail in the works, Perimeter’s growth isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
